Fepuari 2025: Faith, Growth, and Fresh Starts

Reflecting on February within our EFKS community, we find much to celebrate and consider, regardless of whether you are in high school, university, or beginning your adult life. Here’s a concise and engaging summary of our church's activities and their significance for you.

Malaga Toe Amata: Fresh Starts with God

February centered on “malaga toe amata”—restarting our journey with God. We were reminded of God’s ever-present grace, regardless of past mistakes. Challenge: How do your words and actions influence the faith of others? This month encouraged us to consider our impact on those around us, both online and in person.

Youth Sunday (ASO SA O TUPULAGA): Your Choices, God’s Guidance

From January 26th to February 1st, Youth Sunday was vibrant and inspiring. Theme: “E filifili saoloto lou ala, ae faato’a tonu i le taitaiga a le Agaga Paia” (You are free to choose your way, but true direction comes from the Holy Spirit.) Takeaway: You possess genuine freedom, yet the most beneficial choices arise when you allow God’s Spirit to guide you. Do not navigate life in isolation—invite God into your decisions.

Standing Strong: Dealing with Doubts and False Teachings

The week of February 2nd to 8th focused on preparing for challenges to our faith. We discussed “aoaoga sese”—false teachings—and how to identify them. Remember: Prayer and God’s Word are your strongest defenses. Maintain curiosity, ask questions, and do not hesitate to speak up if something seems incorrect.

Living God’s Righteousness Out Loud

From February 9th to 15th, the church challenged us to “preach God’s righteousness”—not merely through words, but through our lives. Important Consideration: People observe how you live. Let us demonstrate God’s love and justice in our choices, friendships, and even on social media platforms.

Letting Go of Worries

February 16th to 22nd focused on “Tuu i le Atua ou popolega”—Leave your anxieties with God. Navigating adulthood can be demanding. University, work, relationships—it can feel overwhelming. However, you do not need to bear these burdens alone. God supports you. Make prayer your refuge.

Protecting Your Calling

From February 23rd to March 1st, we considered guarding against individuals or circumstances that attempt to discourage you from your purpose. Whether it is negativity, peer pressure, or your own self-doubt—do not allow these to prevent you from stepping into what God has planned for you. Surround yourself with individuals who uplift and support your accountability.

What Makes a Good Leader?

We examined leadership through Jesus’ example (Luke 2:1–7). Effective leadership encompasses responsibility, wisdom, faithfulness, and love. Jesus led by the Spirit and respected the freedom of all. If you are in a leadership role (in youth groups, school, or at home), lead with love and fairness.

Special Celebrations and Milestones

Ordination of Susuga Faalefu Tumutalie FS: On February 28th, EFKS Toamua welcomed their new pastor and his wife, Bellarose. The theme emphasized respecting God and authority. It served as a powerful reminder that leadership involves serving others and honoring God.

New Church Plant – EFKS Nuu Fou Sisifo: Announced in February and officially launched on March 2nd. The theme: “O a’u nei le Ala, le Upu Moni ma le Ola” (I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life). This new congregation signifies our church’s growth and mission—perhaps you will be part of a new endeavor like this in the future!

Saint Cornelius: A Leader Worth Following

February 2nd marked the commemoration of Saint Cornelius—a leader who heeded God and lived according to the Gospel. His story (Acts 10) illustrates that true leadership involves humility, openness, and overcoming barriers. If you aspire to lead—within the church, among your friends, or elsewhere—lead as Cornelius did: with faith, hospitality, and courage.

Looking Forward

As we progress into March, let us maintain this momentum. Remain faithful, be resilient, and rely on your community. We are all on this journey together—let us continue walking in Christ’s light and love.

“Ia i ai pea le Filemu o le Atua i le Ekalesia ma ana feau. Ia outou manuia.” (May the peace of God remain with the Church and its mission. Blessings to you all.)
